Jennifer Lawrence wore her velvet house coat and fuzzy slippers out in NYC
There are days when getting dressed feels like an unnecessary inconvenience, and Jennifer Lawrence has apparently found the workaround: just take the living room with you. Spotted in New York City, the actor and new beauty brand founder stepped out in what amounts to a floor-length velvet house coat, worn over a lime Miu Miu wool cardigan, a white T-shirt and loose black trousers, with a pair of textured fuzzy black slippers on her feet.
The focal point is a sumptuous, floor-sweeping chartreuse house coat by New York designer Colleen Allen, with a high neckline, fabric-covered buttons and a slouchy, oversized fit. It's no accident: Lawrence has worn Allen's designs before, including one of her celery-colored velvet skirts, and the pairing continues an ongoing love affair with the label.
A chartreuse signature
The look also doubled down on a shade Lawrence has quietly claimed as her own. Earlier this summer she wore a three-piece silk-georgette ensemble in the zesty color by New Zealand label Harris Tapper. More recently she rolled out a slime green Bolide, one of Hermes's lesser-known handbag models, while sky blue and cherry red make regular appearances in her street style rotations, too.
She finished the outfit with a woven tote from Tory Burch's spring 2027 collection, oversized Dita Scandal sunglasses, a gold Sidney Garber necklace, her go-to emerald-set ring from Yi Collection and her Alison Lou engagement ring. Her hair was swept into a low ponytail secured with a cream scrunchie, wispy bangs falling around her face.
Lawrence has long excelled at high-low dressing, mixing emerging designers with a covetable collection of vintage accessories and staples from Leset and La Ligne. The takeaway here, as Vogue puts it, is a PSA: fall is no reason to retreat into browns, grays and blacks. Leave your neutrals at home, but by all means keep the loungewear.
