Stanley Tucci's real holiday hack: a splash of San Pellegrino in your martini
Stanley Tucci has spent years taking audiences through Italy's culinary corners, so when S.Pellegrino wanted a face for its holiday table this year, the actor was the obvious call. The two have partnered since 2022, and now they're back with limited-edition bottles whose labels are built to keep conversation going long after the food goes cold. But the real fun, Tucci says, is what happens once everyone stops keeping score.
The best part of the new collab might be a cocktail trick Tucci has been sitting on. "If you make a martini on the rocks - vodka martini, gin martini, whatever you want - a little splash of San Pellegrino in it is great," he shared in an interview with Delish. "It gives it a little lift."
There's also a quieter habit fans might not expect from the known coffee devotee. "I find rooibos tea very comforting, particularly when you're on set, making a movie," he said, adding that he takes it "with a little bit of honey."
The family game that always goes off the rails
When the holidays hit, Tucci's house runs a specific kind of entertainment. "Around the holidays, sometimes we'll play charades with the kids in the evening, and it's just fun because I don't like to keep score," he said. "The fun part of it is watching people get up and trying to get a point across; it's hysterical to me."
The generational divide is where it gets good. Kids "will get upset because they don't fully understand it - they'll get upset if you get it quickly, which is sort of the point, because they want to stay up there and keep doing it, as opposed to the adult who just wants it to be over with."
His favorite moments, though, are the ones no bottle label can script. "People just suddenly start bursting into song, or say, 'Hey, let's play charades,' and then the charades go on forever, all the rules go out the window, and nobody really keeps track of who's winning or losing," Tucci said. "That's the most fun."
