"Condé Nast decided to sell Meryl Streep to Bezos, who needs to keep his Sanchez busy." Zinaida Pronchenko* again criticized the glossy magazine.
Film critic Zinaida Pronchenko*, in her review of "The Devil Wears Prada 2," declared that creativity in glossy magazines is dead; all that remains is advertising.
"The owner of Condé Nast died right at the anniversary banquet, and his son decided to sell Meryl Streep to, well, Bezos, who needs something to do with his Sanchez (played by Blunt, halfheartedly imitating the demeanor of a Botoxed Golem). But Hathaway believes that if she writes features about responsible consumption at Dior and global warming in a business lounge, the world will be a better place," Pronchenko* described the film's plot on her Telegram channel.
At the end, the film critic* pokes fun at the editors of glossy magazines, many of whom are currently in crisis: "The main characters congratulate each other on being journalists again, working for a magazine. Any creativity is dead, fashion is fleeting, and only product placement is eternal."
As a reminder, The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters on May 1st. Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, the lead actresses in the sequel to the cult classic from the 2000s, recently promoted the film in Mexico City, New York, London, Seoul, and Shanghai. Meryl Streep also posed for the cover of Vogue magazine alongside Anna Wintour as part of the film's promotional campaign. Judging by the film's trailer, Anne Hathaway's character returns to Podium magazine and helps her former boss, played by Anna Wintour, save the publication.
This isn't the first time film critic Zinaida Pronchenko* has made similar comments about glossy magazine editors. In 2023, in response to a post about Paris Fashion Week by former Elle magazine editor-in-chief Ekaterina Mukhina, the film critic called glossy magazine journalists "the stupidest people in the world."
Pronchenko* also recently called Russian director Valeria Gai Germanika "pure vomit," while praising her new film, "Emelianenko."
