"I don't think I could ever live with someone again." Charlize Theron said she no longer wants a relationship.
Charlize Theron revealed that she has given up dating and has no plans to start a relationship anytime soon.
"I don't think I could ever live with someone again. I think it's because my daughters still live with me, and maybe that will change when the kids grow up and move out," the 50-year-old actress admitted on "The Drew Barrymore Show."
According to Theron, her children are her top priority now, so she doesn't want to waste time on romances. Her daughters, on the contrary, are pushing Charlize toward relationships: "My kids are at the age now where they actually like it when I date someone because they want to be a part of it. It's funny how I was afraid it would scare them, and now they're like, 'Mom, is he texting you? Come on, Mom, go on a date.'"
As a reminder, Theron is raising two adopted children: 13-year-old Jackson, who was born a boy but identifies as a girl*, and 11-year-old August. Charlize adopted her daughters while she was in a relationship with actor Sean Penn. The couple was even rumored to be engaged, but in 2015, Penn and Theron announced their separation.
Charlize hasn't had a serious relationship since Penn, but it's known that the actress spends time with men and even uses dating apps. Theron has previously admitted that she currently prefers one-night stands to serious relationships.
Recently, Theron publicly recounted how her mother killed her father. In an interview with The New York Times, she admitted that her mother, Gerda Theron, shot her husband in response to his threats to kill her and their daughter while intoxicated. After her father's death, her mother asked Charlize to forget what happened and "move on." Theron did just that: she told friends that her father had died in a plane crash, and a year later, she moved to Italy from South Africa and began a modeling career.
