The first teaser for the new Harry Potter series has been released.
HBO has released the first teaser for the upcoming Harry Potter series. The two-minute video, released on the company's official YouTube channel, offers viewers a glimpse of all the key characters, from the students to the Hogwarts faculty.
As a reminder, the new Harry Potter series will retell the story of the famous wizard from the very beginning and is being created with the participation of J.K. Rowling. The project is scheduled to run for 10 years, with each of the seven seasons based on a separate book in the series. The leading roles are played by Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), John Lithgow (Albus Dumbledore), Janet McTeer (Professor McGonagall), Paapa Essiedu (Severus Snape), Nick Frost (Rubeus Hagrid), and others. The premiere is scheduled for the end of 2026.
It's worth noting that the new casting wasn't universally popular, with the new Professor Snape particularly receiving criticism. People considered it racist to cast a black actor as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and criticized the actor himself for not fitting the canonical image. Paapa Essiedu recently spoke out for the first time about the hate.
