Meghan Markle shares rare clip of Archie and Lilibet strolling after U.K. move
Meghan Markle gave fans a rare look at Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet settling into their new life across the pond. On Sunday, October 11, the Duchess of Sussex shared an Instagram Story of her children strolling along a tree-lined pathway.
In the clip, Archie, 7, rode a skateboard while holding a pastel blue backpack. Lilibet, 5, walked beside her older brother wearing a pink knapsack of her own.
Meghan set the video to The Temptations' "My Girl" — the song she and Prince Harry famously danced to at their 2018 royal wedding reception. It was a quietly pointed choice: the family only recently moved back to the United Kingdom after six years in Montecito, California.
Us Weekly confirmed in August that Harry and Meghan were relocating so Archie and Lili could start the fall semester at a British school. Days after their first day of classes, though, the children transferred schools following security concerns. A representative for the Sussexes told Hello! that the decision followed a discussion with the family's security team about the "practicalities of their current arrangements."
The family's return has not been entirely peaceful. In September, multiple foreign photographers were spotted on the grounds of the children's new school, prompting a sharply worded statement from their spokesperson.
"There is a world of difference between legitimate media activity and photographers walking the perimeter of a school, stopping to look into the grounds and monitoring children as they go about their day."
The rep called the incident "extraordinarily reckless" and noted it came "so soon after the incident at RAF Fairford" earlier that week.
Sunday's Story, in contrast, showed Meghan at her most unguarded: a two-child afternoon walk set to an old familiar song, posted for her own followers rather than the press pack.
