Viral Dot Cakes are now at Costco — 6 sprinkle cakes for about $17
The viral Dot Cakes have finally landed at Costco. The sprinkle-covered mini cakes — the brainchild of Roslyn, New York bakery The Dotcakes — blew up on TikTok this spring, and now shoppers are spotting six-packs in the warehouse bakery section for around $17.
Each box holds three classic vanilla cakes and three chocolate cakes, and both varieties are nut- and sesame-free. That's a touch pricier than buying directly from the bakery, but you no longer need a Long Island address — or a trip to Butterfield Market in Manhattan — to get them. Delish, which spotted the rollout, called the convenience "worth the price."
The cakes turned into a genuine phenomenon this spring. One TikTok taste test pulled in more than 7 million views, rival bakeries and food creators started churning out their own takes, and at one point The Dotcakes temporarily stopped taking orders just to catch up with demand.
Fans hunt them down — skeptics shrug
Costco shoppers, predictably, are already in the comments. "OMG 😳 MUST TRY! 😍," one fan wrote. "This is what i need 😍," another added, while a third chimed in: "I've been seeing Dot Cakes everywhere.. so I'm glad they're at Costco now."
The skeptics are just as loud. "So cake with sprinkles," one person deadpanned. "It's a yellow cake … with sprinkles let's not act like it's some unique invention 😂," another echoed, and a third pushed back on the ingredient list: "Wish they used natural dyes and not artificial ones."
That divide is exactly what made Dot Cakes a talking point in the first place: a simple yellow or chocolate cake rolled in rainbow sprinkles, marketed well enough to feel special. Whether it earns the price tag is now a decision you can make in the Costco aisle instead of online.
At least you don't have to road-trip to Long Island to settle the debate — the sprinkle-topped boxes are finally a regular Costco pickup.
