Madonna and Guy Ritchie appeared together almost 20 years after their divorce: they visited their son's exhibition
Singer Madonna and director Guy Ritchie attended the opening of their son Rocco's exhibition. The former couple reunited in public for the first time since 2008. 25-year-old Rocco Ritchie posted a photo of himself and his parents on social media.
Madonna, 67, arrived at the gallery with her 29-year-old boyfriend, Akim Morris, and their adopted daughters, 13-year-old twins Stella and Esther. The singer's ex-husband, 57-year-old Guy Ritchie, arrived with his wife, Jacqui Ainsley, with whom he has three other children.
At the opening of the exhibition entitled "Words Are Cheap," Rocco unveiled portraits of his sisters Stella and Esther, as well as other loved ones. Madonna shared her impressions of her son's work on social media.
"Art has a unique ability to bring people together, whether it's in a movie theater watching a film, in a nightclub dancing to music, or at an exhibition gathering around a painting. Art has a magical ability to inspire connection. Thank you, Rocco, for creating this experience through blood, sweat, and tears. Words are cheap—truly," the singer wrote.
The son of celebrities himself noted that he understands why some people judge him, and said that he is proud of the support from his parents. "It is understandable why some people may judge me, I do not blame them. However, I am proud of who I am, but I am even more proud that my parents support me together. The work should speak for itself, that is why the exhibition was called "Words are cheap."
As a reminder, Madonna and Guy Ritchie were married from 2000 to 2008 and were considered one of the most flamboyant celebrity couples. The couple has two sons: biological Rocco and adopted David Banda, whom they adopted two years before their divorce. In 2015, Ritchie married British model Jacqui Ainsley after five years of dating. They have three children: sons Raphael and Levi, and daughter Rivka.
Madonna has dated several boyfriends since her divorce, but is currently engaged to Akeem Morris. In addition to Rocco and David Banda, the singer has a 29-year-old biological daughter, Lourdes, and three adopted daughters: 19-year-old Mercy and twins Stella and Esther.
