"Give birth—and go back to work on the fourth day." Tina Kandelaki advised women to forgo maternity leave for career success.
Tina Kandelaki offered advice to women who want to succeed in their careers. According to the 50-year-old media manager, those who want "money and opportunities" should consider forgoing maternity leave.
"Don't feel sorry for yourself, and everything will be fine. Just like that: give birth—and on the fourth day, back to work. And that's fine. Did other women do this? They did. If you look at their stories, you'll see that these women achieved success in the field they worked in. But at what price they achieved it—that's a question for these women. So, they decided to pay that price," she said.
Kandelaki cited her own experience as an example. "Many people say, 'Well, of course, it's easy for her to say.' The first and second times I gave birth, I went back to work a week later. I think few women have had this experience—going back to work full-time while still leading a public life, working in front of the camera. I had to do it. I certainly don't regret it at all, because I couldn't interrupt my work: I had to work, I simply needed money, I had to earn money, I had to increase my income to support my family. I literally always gave birth at work," Kandelaki noted, adding that this is why she now has "opportunities."
"Is this good or bad? Overall, it's not an experience worth repeating. It's not healthy, and no one knows what impact it might have on your body over the years. But every success has its price. I paid mine. I don't recommend repeating it, but I can always explain the price you pay for a nanny, money, and opportunities, no matter who you are or what you do," she concluded.
Tina Kandelaki often expresses her opinions on a wide range of topics. Previously, for example, she recommended Botox to preserve youth and spoke in favor of plastic surgery. She also periodically discusses relationships between men and women: recently, she stated that wealthy men "buy" women with expensive gifts.
Kandelaki, who serves as director of the TNT television channel, has been married for over 10 years to Rostec top manager Vasily Brovko, 12 years her junior. The couple have a one-year-old son. Kandelaki also has an adult son and daughter from her first marriage to businessman Andrei Kondrakhin.
