Prince Harry wants to return to royal duties, but King Charles III is against it
Prince Harry is ready to return to royal duties during the illness of his father, King Charles, but the king himself is in no hurry to return his son to the family. News of Prince Harry's wishes emerged over the weekend, with The Times saying the Duke of Sussex was willing to "temporarily return to royal duties" to support his father during his illness. Harry allegedly told his friends about this. An insider said Harry, 39, was encouraged by “warm conversations” between him and the king after he visited his father in the UK after learning he had been diagnosed with cancer. He flew to the UK without Meghan Markle and spent only a day there. At the same time, he spent only 45 minutes with the king, which, according to rumors, caused unnecessary problems for Charles, who intended to rest after the operation. Harry also did not meet with his brother, Prince William, with whom he has a very strained relationship after the Duke of Sussex's numerous revelations about the royal family in general and William and his wife Kate Middleton in particular.
However, the king himself and Prince William are of the “strong view” that it is worth honoring the terms of the so-called “Sandringham Summit”: a meeting in 2020 that discussed the decision of Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle to step back from royal duties. As per Queen Elizabeth II's decision, Prince Harry will step back entirely from his duties as a working member of the royal family and will undertake not to use his title for commercial purposes. “The terms of the agreement were very clear and nothing that has happened recently, including the king’s illness, has changed that,” the insider said.
Interestingly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle previously launched a new project using their titles, which the royal family did not like. In addition, after news about this appeared in the press, the couple was criticized by residents of Sussex. People don't like that Meghan and Harry are going to make money off their titles without being working members of the royal family and just want to "have glamorous royal names" without doing any work.
Meghan Markle previously announced a new podcast after failure with Spotify: the company severed business relations with her.
