An insider revealed the real reason behind the conflict between Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya on the set of Euphoria.
An insider from the set of the third season of the series "Euphoria" said that the conflict between Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya began not because Sydney flirted with Zendaya's fiancé Tom Holland, but because of the actresses' fees for filming.
A source who was on set told the Daily Mail that fans of the show are right to believe that Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya are avoiding each other. Indeed, the two women stopped communicating and even avoided each other during filming. So it's no surprise that Sweeney and Zendaya, the two main stars of Euphoria, didn't appear together for the photocall at the Los Angeles premiere.
However, the conflict between the actresses isn't due to Sydney's relationship with Tom Holland, who is rumored to have married Zendaya. Sydney has simply become much more popular in the past few years, making it harder for her to accept that Zendaya earns significantly more per film.
Furthermore, Sydney's fame has changed her, and she now behaves differently than she used to: "When Sydney is on set, she definitely has a lot of demands on what she needs and wants for the job, so it can be difficult for some." And for Zendaya, this is unacceptable: "Zendaya is very well-liked, and it was a pleasure to work with her on set. She's a true professional, very down-to-earth, very kind, and very appreciative."
As a reminder, the third season of Sam Levinson's series "Euphoria" premieres on April 12. The show's creators have already announced that this season is the last for the once-cult series.
One of the reasons for Euphoria's cancellation was Zendaya's busy schedule, which includes a promotional tour for the film "What a Drama!" and years of filming. The actress now exclusively stars in blockbusters and doesn't want to waste time on TV series.
Furthermore, in March 2026, Zendaya appeared publicly for the first time wearing an engagement ring. Apparently, the actress recently married her boyfriend, Tom Holland, whom she's been dating for at least five years: the couple only confirmed their relationship in 2021. In several interviews, the actress has said she wants to cut back on filming after getting married, and it appears that time has come.
