Taylor Swift's 'Patient Zero' rules the Hot 100 again — her 51st week at No. 1
Taylor Swift is spending a second straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Patient Zero," the lead single from her latest release The Life of Showgirl: The Encore. The run gives Swift her 51st career week atop the Hot 100 — the fifth-highest total in chart history, behind Mariah Carey (101), Rihanna (60), the Beatles (59) and Drake (58).
"Patient Zero" pulled in 17.4 million official U.S. streams, down 50 percent week over week, and slipped from No. 1 to No. 2 on the Streaming Songs chart. But that dip wasn't enough to dislodge it from the overall ranking, which blends streams, radio airplay and sales.
The track is one of four new Swift songs added to Encore, the expanded edition of The Life of Showgirl. Just a day earlier, that run of albums helped Swift reach her 100th cumulative week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 across all of her records combined.
The chart around her
Swift isn't alone in the top five. Drake bowed at No. 5 with "Solar Eclipse," his Don Toliver collaboration that reworks Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas." That song first appeared in Drake's Fear of Missing Out film, which he streamed on YouTube in mid-September before releasing it to streaming services as part of his Habibti (FOMO) edition.
Further down, Slovakian pop newcomer Adéla kept climbing, with her single "Nicole Kidman" jumping from No. 12 to No. 9 — her first-ever Hot 100 entry has now cracked the top 10 as her debut album Prima and North American "Red Bottoms" tour keep the momentum going. Swift, meanwhile, holds at No. 1 with "Patient Zero" for a second week.
