Lerchek, who is battling terminal cancer, shaved her head after chemotherapy.
Lerchek, diagnosed with stage four cancer, shaved her head after chemotherapy. A video of her shaving her own head was posted on Instagram* by her boyfriend and the father of her fourth child, Argentine Luis Squicciarini. He also helped Lerchek trim her head at the end of the video.
"My brave Lera, I can't imagine how difficult it is for a woman to lose her hair, her beauty, and her femininity. The hair loss started after the first chemotherapy session, and I saw how difficult it was for you to comb your hair and remove large clumps of it. And you made the right decision—to shave your head so as not to let this process steal your beauty bit by bit. And despite the pain, you continue to smile, give love to your family, make plans for our future, and put all your energy into life. You've always been like this—and that's what made me fall in love with you. This is your true beauty, and for me, it will never fade. It's not in your hair, eyebrows, or nails. You will always be my beautiful Lera, and I will always be by your side—every step of the way," Squicchiarini captioned the video.
Lerchek (real name Valeria Chekalina) was diagnosed with cancer in early March 2026. Immediately after the birth of her fourth son, she was admitted to intensive care, where doctors diagnosed her with late-stage stomach cancer with metastases. She is currently undergoing treatment at a state oncology center.
Despite her serious condition, at the end of March, 33-year-old Valeria announced the launch of her own cosmetics brand. Her fiancé, Louis Squicchiarini, confirmed that the blogger was actively involved in the project. This news, along with reports online that Lerchek, a cancer patient, was allegedly seen at an elite fitness club, only reinforced the doubts of those who doubt the reality of her diagnosis.
As a reminder, Lerchek also appealed to the Investigative Committee to investigate the actions of the investigator, who, according to her, did not allow doctors to see her during her house arrest, leading to the illness being discovered too late. The Ministry of Internal Affairs did not confirm Chekalina's allegations.
The criminal case against the blogger (accused of siphoning over 250 million rubles abroad) was suspended on March 16. Valeria's ex-husband, Artyom Chekalin, who is also a defendant in the case, pleaded guilty. The day after the case was suspended, it was reported that Lerchek's 175 million-ruble tax debt had been paid off anonymously. Her fiancé, Luis Squicciarini, later stated that the blogger had paid the debt herself, putting an end to rumors of a secret benefactor.
Lerchek previously communicated with fans wearing a wig.
