Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron visited Japan and South Korea
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, are visiting East Asia. The couple visited Japan and South Korea.
In Tokyo, 48-year-old Emmanuel Macron and 72-year-old Brigitte Macron were invited to the Imperial Palace, where they met with Emperor Naruhito of Japan and his wife, Empress Masako. The French first lady appeared before the heads of state in a white dress and carrying a Louis Vuitton bag.
After their visit to Japan, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron traveled to Seoul. There, they visited the memorial to those killed in the Korean War. The president's wife appeared in public wearing a white coat and high-heeled shoes.
Emmanuel Macron previously appeared in public with a swollen eye, prompting online speculation that his wife might have been involved. Rumors of marital problems have long circulated. Last year, during a visit to Vietnam, Brigitte slapped her husband and then pointedly ignored his offer of a hand as they disembarked. Later, in the UK, she again publicly "humiliated" her husband.
As a reminder, French President Emmanuel Macron married his former French teacher, Brigitte Trogneux, in 2007. She has three children from a previous marriage and seven grandchildren. The couple has no children together. The couple has long been criticized for their large age difference, and Brigitte is also forced to defend herself in court against the theory that she was born male*.
