Lerchek, 33, who is currently undergoing treatment for stage 4 stomach cancer, is preparing to launch a new brand. Her boyfriend, Louis Squicchiarini, announced the news while chatting with his followers.
"Do you really think Lera was just sitting around all this time? She's our Lera. And I was there with her the whole time, supporting her. Everything happened before my eyes. It was a difficult journey. And we did it all from scratch. So you'll still have the opportunity to fall in love with a new and stronger brand. Just like her," Louis Squicchiarini shared on his social media.
The conversation about the new business began after Luis was reminded of the Letique brand. He emphasized that Lerchek no longer had any connection with the company and was "not responsible for quality, ingredients, etc." "In the future, Valeria herself will try to answer this in more detail. But this story left a painful mark on her soul," Luis wrote.
Lerchek previously left the Letique brand due to 175 million rubles in tax debt, which was paid anonymously. Online speculation suggested that the debt was paid by the blogger's ex-husband, Artem Chekalin, with whom she founded the cosmetics brand, who recently sold their townhouse. However, this theory was later refuted by Louis Squicchiarini.
As a reminder, Lerchek divorced Artyom Chekalin two years ago amid a criminal case against them: the couple was accused of illegally transferring over 250 million rubles abroad. The bloggers spent over a year under house arrest. Valeria gave birth to three children with Artyom: twins Alisa and Bogdan, and a son, Lev.
Lerchek is currently in a relationship with her tango coach, 37-year-old Argentine Luis Squicciarini. He is helping the blogger through a difficult period of treatment: a course of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, during which Valeria began to lose her sight. The diagnosis—stage four stomach cancer with metastases to the spine, brain, legs, and lungs—became known after the birth of the couple's son. Valeria herself claims that she complained of pain a year ago, but was not allowed to see doctors. After the case received widespread attention online, the court replaced the blogger's house arrest with a ban on certain activities. The criminal case against Lerchek has been suspended.
