Beyonce's loved ones are pushing her to divorce Jay-Z after he was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl
Beyoncé, 43, is being pressured by her entourage to divorce Jay-Z, 55, after he was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl, Radar Online reports.
According to the publication, although the singer publicly supported her husband, “behind closed doors” serious problems are brewing in her marriage. Many of Beyoncé’s friends believe that she should break up with her husband. “Her friends say that she should not only distance herself from Jay, but break up with him altogether,” Radar Online quotes an insider as saying.
The singer and rapper's marriage had previously been under threat due to the latter's infidelity, but the couple managed to save the family. "Even though it wasn't easy, Beyoncé and Jay reconciled for the sake of their children and their careers, but things have gone too far," the anonymous source said. The publication notes that in the event of a divorce, the star spouses will have to divide their fortune of $2.6 billion.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, publicly supported her daughter on social media. She posted a screenshot of a fan praising her performance and wrote, “Whether you like Beyoncé’s music or not, here’s proof and motivation. No matter how talented you are, people will always say negative things.” Before that, Tina had liked a post about the accusations against the rapper, sparking a new wave of rumors. However, she later justified herself by saying that her account had been hacked.
Jay-Z was previously accused of raping a 13-year-old girl after the 2000 Video Music Awards with P. Diddy (who was recently arrested on multiple charges, including sex trafficking). The rapper denied the alleged victim's claims and called the lawsuit against him a "disgusting attempt at blackmail." He made a family appearance shortly after, joining his wife Beyoncé, eldest daughter Blue Ivy, and his mother-in-law Tina Knowles at the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King in California. Beyoncé reportedly "forced" her husband to attend the premiere so that her absence would not be perceived as an admission of guilt.
However, despite the support given to her husband, Beyoncé refused his last name: the Internet believes that in this way the singer wants to protect her personal brand from reputational damage.
