Dua Lipa ate her first American hot dog at a Yankees game, MLB superfan says
Dua Lipa went to her first baseball game this week, and according to the very excited superfan seated beside her, she checked off another American milestone while she was there: eating a hot dog.
The pop star watched the New York Yankees' playoff game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium with her husband, actor Callum Turner. The couple sat behind home plate next to Laurence Leavy, the baseball fixture better known as Marlins Man, who later shared the night's details on X.
Leavy was happy to document the occasion. "So fyi. It was her 1st baseball game ever. And 1st american hot dog ever," he wrote in one post, adding in a second that it was a "Special night."
Photos from the game show Lipa eating the dog from her seat while New York took on Tampa Bay. The Cut reported that she appeared to be working a condiment packet, and other shots suggested ketchup may have made it onto the hot dog — a topping choice some fans will happily argue about. For a first-ever stadium dog, Yankee Stadium isn't a bad place to start.
Why "American" hot dog is the careful wording
There is one important caveat: the "first hot dog ever" detail comes from Leavy, not from Lipa herself. His first post specifically described it as her first American hot dog, which is the safer way to frame it given she has spent plenty of time outside the U.S.
Leavy seemed genuinely charmed by his surprise seatmates regardless. He wrote that Lipa was "SUPER NICE," suggested she might be the "best ever celebrity" he had ever met, and admitted he initially had no idea who Lipa and Turner were.
The Yankees ended up losing the game 4-3 to the Rays, a result that knocked New York out of the postseason. The baseball portion of the night didn't go the home fans' way, but Lipa at least left having tried one of the ballpark's essential foods. Now the only thing missing is her official hot dog review.
