Cup Noodles' Vampire Ramen turns blood red — and there's a $3,999 coffin to match
Cup Noodles is making garlic the star of Halloween — which is its own kind of joke, since garlic is supposed to repel vampires. The brand's new Vampire Noodles are a limited-edition hot garlic and chicken ramen with a genuinely fun trick: the moment you pour in hot water, the broth turns a deep, alarming blood red. Nissin Foods says the crimson comes from beet-based coloring, not anything undead.
The $1.18 cup is available now exclusively at Walmart nationwide, while supplies last. “Halloween is the perfect moment to create something unexpected, and Vampire Noodles does exactly that,” said Priscila Stanton, senior vice president of marketing at Nissin Foods. “The blood-red transformation and bold hot garlic flavor turn an everyday meal into a memorable Halloween experience.”
A coffin to match
Turning lunch blood red apparently wasn't enough spooky season fun. Cup Noodles also teamed up with Titan Casket on a $3,999 collectible coffin. The glossy maroon piece has a dripping Cup Noodles logo splashed across the lid and “IT'S TO DIE FOR” embroidered inside against black velvet.
You can buy the thing outright through Titan Casket, or enter Cup Noodles' Instagram and TikTok sweepstakes for a chance to win it. Considering the price tag, most people will probably be crossing their fingers for the giveaway.
Fans had plenty to say about the garlic-heavy flavor. “Does your breath raise the dead afterward?” one commenter wanted to know, while another joked that “Dracula is probably rolling over in his grave smelling this flavor.” Reactions otherwise ranged from “Literally obsessed!!!!!” to the more matter-of-fact “Put on to get list.” One shopper is already planning a Halloween double feature: “this and the hidden valley black ranch.”
The noodles and the coffin are both live now, joining a Halloween grocery lineup that is clearly not playing it safe this year.
