"Sometimes I forget that it's okay to be yourself." Selena Gomez spoke out about her body changes and body shaming
Selena Gomez talks again on Instagram* about the changes in her body. In Stories* she published an old photo taken in 2013, when she was 21 years old, and a photo from her vacation last year.
“Today I realized that I will never look like this again,” she captioned an old photo.
"I'm not perfect, but I'm proud of who I am... Sometimes I forget that it's okay to be myself," the 31-year-old actress added.
Gomez often faces criticism from netizens because of her figure: fans believe that she looked better before. Gomez herself admitted that after she recovered, she did not fit into clothes of her size on the set and was embarrassed because of this.
"None of the sizes in the selection fit and it made me feel uneasy. It's not too realistic to expect a normal woman's body to remain the same."
Selena's figure has changed not only with age: several years ago, when she was 24 years old, she was diagnosed with lupus. Since then, the actress has been forced to take the necessary medications, which also affect her figure, and respond to numerous comments from haters.
Recently, a new reason for criticism of Selena has appeared: this time it is connected with her boyfriend Benny Blanco. According to users, the music producer does not have a good appearance and is not suitable for Gomez, but she herself is told that she allegedly started dating him simply out of loneliness.
