Anne Hathaway hits the Verity premiere in a black sequined Prabal Gurung gown
Anne Hathaway’s maternity style has entered its dark-and-dramatic era. At the Verity premiere in New York, the actor took the red carpet in a sweeping black sequined tulle gown by Prabal Gurung — the sharpest beat yet in a pregnancy style story that has been running all year.
This is Hathaway’s fifth film since the start of 2026, as Vogue counts it, and she has refused to let any press run repeat itself. In between she worked a full New York Fashion Week spring 2027 calendar. At Bvlgari’s Serpenti Infinito celebration she wore an ethereal lilac strapless Alexander McQueen dress; at the Moncler Fifth Avenue flagship opening she went for a “Canadian tuxedo,” a chambray shirt with the bottom buttons left undone to bare the bump. She also hit the Disney Entertainment Showcase in a J’amemme dress and Jimmy Kimmel Live in a Lein Studio look.
Three films, three style chapters
Each project has come with its own wardrobe thesis. For The Odyssey, Hathaway kept pieces “flowy and romantic” in custom Dior and Prada. For The End of Oak Street, she leaned on separates in shades of blue and white. Now, for the thriller Verity, she’s swapping goddess dressing for high-octane glamour.
Each film marks a distinct new chapter in Hathaway’s pregnancy style — and now she’s bringing dark drama for Verity.
Two habits run through all of it: Bvlgari jewelry, which shows up in nearly every look, and dressing toward the bump instead of away from it. On the same day as the premiere she was photographed out in New York in Cult Gaia, then hit the after-party in a shorter second outfit that kept the night’s black palette going.
The Odyssey press run may feel like “a lifetime ago,” as Jackson puts it, but Hathaway keeps proving the maternity style tour is nowhere near done. Next up is the rest of the Verity run, and if the pattern holds, the bump will stay very much in frame.
