Taylor Swift hits three UK No. 1s in 2026 — and celebrates in Burberry
The Official Charts Company announced Friday that Taylor Swift has become the first artist ever to land three UK No. 1 singles in 2026 — and scored her fifth UK chart double, with "Patient Zero" and "The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore" topping the country's charts at the same time.
Swift marked the moment on Instagram with her two trophies in hand, wearing a collared knit top by British label Burberry, pleated pants and a belt from The Row. Soft curls, winged eyeliner and a pink-nude lip finished the look. The Burberry long-sleeve wool polo retails for $960 — a fittingly British choice for a UK chart celebration.
The styling is not a one-off. During her international Eras Tour, Swift made "fashion diplomacy" a signature move, regularly matching her outfits to the colors of each host country's flag.
A habit of flag-matching
In Brazil she rotated through yellow, blue and green dresses; in Argentina she favored a run of blue gowns. She twinned with the Swedish flag in yellow and blue in Stockholm, and gave a sartorial salute to Ireland in orange and green in Dublin.
The color-blocked Roberto Cavalli sets she introduced partway through the tour made that mixing easy: a yellow top with a blue skirt in Sweden, orange with green in Ireland, and red with yellow in Spain. The label's creative director, Fausto Puglisi, told Page Six Style in 2024 that the mix-and-match idea came from Swift herself.
"I designed [them] thinking about mixing orange with orange, turquoise with turquoise, purple with purple," Puglisi said. "But when we met in Paris, Joseph [Cassell, Swift's longtime stylist] said, 'She likes to mix [them] together!' I start screaming from happiness, because I'm obsessed with color-blocking. There is this sense of freedom in mixing these colors."
