Rihanna hit Paris Fashion Week in a shimmering gold tinsel skirt suit
Rihanna put on a show at Paris Fashion Week when she arrived at the Matières Fécales runway presentation on Sept. 28 wearing a waist-cinching, gold skirt suit covered in tinseled embellishments that glittered as she moved.
The number was a Cecile Feilchenfeldt-knitted piece, which the singer finished with a black bustier, matching patent leather heels by Christian Louboutin and a gold choker necklace. It was maximalist and unapologetic — the exact kind of entrance the Take a Bow artist has made her signature.
The drama didn't stop there. The following day, the 38-year-old switched lanes entirely for the Dior fashion show, draping herself in an oversized black coat and lace cami while letting nearly 100 carats of Chopard diamond jewelry do the talking from the front row.
Fashion used to be fun — now it's logistics
Rihanna is no stranger to the Paris runways; last year she and longtime partner A$AP Rocky caught the AWGE menswear show while pregnant, turning it into a family outing with their kids RZA, 4, Riot, 3, and Rocki, 12 months.
But the nine-time Grammy winner has been candid about how motherhood reshaped her relationship to getting dressed. "I've done so much s--t in my life. I've had my nipples out, my panties out," she told British Vogue in 2024. "But now, those are the things which, I guess as a mom and an evolved young lady — emphasis on young — there are things I feel like I would never do."
She expanded on that in Harper's Bazaar in 2025: "I feel like getting dressed is a fight on its own," she said. "Fashion is so much fun, and I miss the fun."
Judging by this week's gold suit, the fun is well and truly back.
