56-year-old Cate Blanchett appeared in public for the first time in a long time in a "naked" dress.

Cate Blanchett recently attended the BFI Awards ceremony in London. At the social event, the 56-year-old actress presented director Guillermo del Toro with one of Britain's highest film awards.

For a rare public appearance in recent times, Blanchett chose a black dress from the new Maison Margiela collection with a plunging neckline, translucent elements, and ruffles. The look was completed with knotted earrings and an unusual ring in the shape of a wolf's head.

Last year, Cate Blanchett announced her intention to retire from acting. She explained her decision by citing a desire to explore other fields.

As a reminder, the actress has been married to screenwriter and editor Andrew Upton since 1997. The couple has three sons: Dashiell, Roman, and Ignatius. In 2015, the couple adopted a daughter, Edith Vivian Patricia.
