Angelina Jolie sells house and leaves the US: Wins lawsuit against Brad Pitt in winery case
Angelina Jolie, 50, has won a court case against her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, over the sale of her share of the Chateau Miraval winery in France, Page Six reports.
The Los Angeles Superior Court ruled that 62-year-old Brad Pitt cannot, after all, demand disclosure of Jolie's personal emails related to the sale of her winery stake. The judge upheld the actress's position that the correspondence is confidential and protected by law, denying Pitt's motion, which he failed to refute. However, the actor may still raise the issue in court in the future.
"This is a significant victory for Jolie. The ruling shows that Pitt clearly overstepped his bounds in his attempt to access documents covered by attorney-client privilege," Angelina Jolie's lawyer, Paul Murphy, told reporters.
Murphy's statement also stated that Pitt's side initially sought disclosure of 126 confidential documents, but then reduced the number to 22, and ultimately received nothing. "This is part of Mr. Pitt's behavior, which demands control over everything concerning Angelina, including control over her communications with her own lawyers. We are extremely pleased that both the Court of Appeal and the trial court ultimately put an end to this."
Following her court victory, Jolie has put her Los Angeles mansion up for sale. She purchased the property, for which she is asking $30 million, next door to Brad Pitt shortly after their split in 2017. The proximity of the actors' homes was due to their shared custody of their six children. The actress previously stated that she would leave the United States when her twins, Knox and Vivienne, turn 18. According to media reports, she intends to leave the country as early as July, immediately after their birthdays, and is considering two countries: her beloved Cambodia and France.
As a reminder, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt separated in 2016 after more than a decade of dating and two years of marriage. In 2021, the actress sold her half of their Chateau Miraval winery in France to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler*. Pitt soon filed a lawsuit to invalidate the deal, as the agreement prohibited either of them from selling their share without the other's consent. Due to numerous court cases over child custody and property division, the actors' official divorce only took place in late 2024. 
The ex-spouses have six children, the eldest of whom are adopted: Maddox from Cambodia, Zahara from Ethiopia, and Pax from Vietnam. In 2006, the actress gave birth to her first biological daughter with Pitt, Shiloh, and two years later, twins Knox and Vivienne were born. Currently, almost all of the actor's children have dropped his surname and have little contact with him.
Since 2022, Brad Pitt has been dating Ines de Ramon, who is half his age, while Angelina Jolie has been suspected of affairs with many of her colleagues, including Louis Garrel. However, since her split from Pitt, she is rumored to be single.
