An air kiss and the signature "heart": footage of Nikol Pashinyan and Emmanuel Macron at Yerevan Airport has gone viral online.
Footage of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron at Yerevan Airport has gone viral online. The politicians exchanged warm farewells following the French leader's official visit to the country.
Pashinyan and Macron, who was flying to Yerevan for the European Political Community summit, first shared a long hug before boarding the plane. As Macron boarded the plane, Pashinyan made his signature "heart" sign with his fingers. In response, the French leader blew him a kiss. Before that, they shared a video of themselves in the car.
Pashinyan, 50, first became a social media star when he posted a video of himself sitting pensively to a Zemfira track*. After that, he began frequently posting like-worthy content on social media: images of himself eating and greeting the mornings at hotels. Almost every video ends with his signature gesture—his hands clasped together in the shape of a heart. He repeated this gesture, for example, during a trip to Moscow, listening to Yuri Shatunov's hit "White Roses."
Interestingly, another airport video, featuring his wife, recently dealt a serious blow to 48-year-old Macron's reputation. In May 2025, a video surfaced online of 72-year-old Brigitte Macron slapping her husband on board a plane landing in Vietnam. The Élysée Palace attributed the incident to a typical marital spat. However, social media sparked speculation about problems in the Macrons' marriage. The incident was even ridiculed by US President Donald Trump.
