"I was raised by a strong woman." Angelina Jolie's adopted daughter spoke about her.
Angelina Jolie's 21-year-old adopted daughter, Zahara, who rarely comments publicly about her relationship with her mother, delivered a eulogy, calling Jolie "the most selfless, loving, and understanding woman" and admitting that she herself has become strong thanks to her. Zahara made this statement while speaking at the Pearls of Purpose Foundation brunch at Spelman College, where she studies, according to the Daily Mail.
"When I was asked to speak to you about the value of the mother-daughter relationship, I struggled with the words. Not because I don't value our relationship, but because my mother and I have a unique bond that's hard to explain," Zahara said. "Our love for each other is a newfound love. I was adopted at six months old, giving me the most special and loving siblings, and my mother instilled in us values like helping others, kindness, and a constant pursuit of personal growth."
She also admitted that she still struggles to understand how Jolie manages all her responsibilities and called her "the most selfless, loving, and understanding woman." Concluding her speech, Zahara added, "I am a strong woman because I was raised by a strong woman. Thank you, Mom."
Zahara is one of six children of 50-year-old Angelina Jolie and 62-year-old Brad Pitt (three biological and three adopted). Angelina adopted Zahara from Ethiopia in 2005: the actress found her in a local orphanage. The celebrity couple married in 2014 and filed for divorce in 2016. The custody and property dispute dragged on for eight years, only concluding in late 2024. Since then, several of the couple's children (Shiloh, Zahara, and Maddox) have renounced their father's surname. Pitt is currently dating Ines de Ramon, a fitness trainer and jewelry designer, and Jolie was suspected of having a relationship with actor Louis Garrel. This information was later denied.
Earlier, it was reported that Angelina Jolie's daughter, Shiloh, starred in a music video by a South Korean singer, where she was compared to her mother. Online, discussions are also rife about Jolie's "new" face.
