Actor Vladislav Bengraf and his wife stabbed each other to death during an argument.
Vladislav Bengraf, 28, an actor with the Mytishchi Fest Theater, and his 23-year-old wife, Evgenia, stabbed each other to death during an argument, according to the Moscow Region Prosecutor's Office press service. According to preliminary reports, the tragedy was caused by the woman's intention to file for divorce.
The conflict occurred on the night of April 19th in the couple's apartment. At some point, a verbal argument escalated into a knife fight: the man stabbed his wife several times in the neck and chest, after which she, in self-defense, grabbed a bladed weapon. Both died from their injuries before the arrival of an ambulance, called by neighbors concerned about the noise.
As sources close to the couple told Shot, the breakdown in their relationship began several months ago. Evgenia was experiencing severe stress due to her husband's erratic behavior: he would alternately get into arguments, complain about difficulties, and then ask for forgiveness. Ultimately, she decided to separate and asked him to move out. Vladislav temporarily moved in with his mother-in-law, as his relationship with his own mother was difficult.
The day before the tragedy, Evgenia went to a friend's party. Vladislav left his mother-in-law's house that same evening, saying he'd be back late. He first stopped by the theater to find out details about a new play, then met with friends. Later, he went to his wife's apartment in Mytishchi, where the tragedy occurred.
It was reported that forensic experts have already examined the crime scene and seized the knives. Investigators have opened two criminal cases related to the murder.
Vladislav Bengraf was a member of the Fest Theatre troupe, where he performed in productions of Cyrano de Bergerac, Mafiosi, and others. His wife, Evgenia, also worked at the theater, where she served as head of the makeup department.
