"He was hot once." The internet is buzzing about an "aged" James McAvoy.
James McAvoy's appearance is the subject of much online debate. After the 46-year-old actor posted a new video on social media, fans were confused—many thought he looked significantly older than his age.
In the video, McAvoy asked his followers to support his new film, "California Hustle," which marks his directorial debut. However, it wasn't his words that caught the audience's attention, but his changed appearance: the actor had noticeably grayed, gained weight, and, according to users, the wrinkles on his face had become more pronounced.
"Are you 40 or 60? Dude, you've let yourself go," "Damn, why do you look so old? What happened to you?", "Since when did he have so much gray hair?", "Tell me it's just a filter," "I really hope that's makeup and not his real face," "When did he get so old?", "Grandpa... You used to be so hot," people write, emphasizing that James looked "better" just recently.
McAvoy himself, however, takes the changes of age in stride. In a recent episode of Romesh Ranganathan's podcast, he noted that aging is a natural part of life, and one that doesn't worry him. The actor also doesn't seek out cosmetic procedures: in his opinion, they don't restore youth, but merely alter natural facial features. "People who have fillers and other plastic surgeries start to look weird. That's the point. You don't get younger. You just look weird," he stated.
As a reminder, James McAvoy has been married to assistant director Lisa Liberati since 2019. The couple has a four-year-old son, whom the actor recently revealed. He also has an older son with his ex-wife, Anne-Marie Duff. The couple divorced in 2016 after ten years of marriage.
