Paulina Porizkova celebrated her 61st birthday in a bikini.
61-year-old supermodel Paulina Porizkova showed off her figure in a bikini in honor of her birthday.
On Instagram*, Paulina posted a video of herself wearing just a swimsuit. The model showed off her body from every angle, flexing her muscles and unafraid of appearing ridiculous. "I'm trying on this new bikini, and I'm reminded of the long road I've traveled toward self-acceptance. I know this may sound crazy, but 40 years ago, when I was 21 and at the height of my supermodel fame, I felt insecure because of the endless comparisons to other girls. It seemed like I was never good enough. And here I am today, trying on this bikini and flexing the muscles I worked so hard to get rid of cellulite, not so much to look my best in this bikini, but to look my best at 61," Porizkova wrote.
Porizkova has previously shown off her figure in lingerie and swimsuits. In recent years, the model has been actively fighting ageism, posting unedited photos and encouraging women not to fear age. "Aging is a privilege," she says. In one video, Paulina admitted that she posed in lace lingerie to show her body unadorned, noting: "Smoke and mirrors, people. That's how you can create a beautiful illusion for a moment. The truth is, gravity takes its toll. But gravity is what made you stronger." And when comments suggest that an "aging body" looks ridiculous, the model responds that our imperfections are what make us truly unique.
Paulina Porizkova was one of the most sought-after supermodels of the 1980s and the first Eastern European to appear on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Her childhood was difficult: at age three, she was left behind in Czechoslovakia with her grandmother while her parents fled Soviet troops, and was only reunited with them seven years later.
For nearly 30 years, Porizkova was married to Ric Ocasek, the frontman of The Cars, with whom she had two sons. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2018, and a year later, the model discovered her husband dead in their New York apartment. It turned out that Ocasek had disinherited her and their children, stating in the papers that she had "abandoned" him. In 2025, Paulina became engaged to screenwriter Jeff Greenstein, who worked on the series "Friends" and "Desperate Housewives."
