The internet is discussing the resemblance between the Prince of Monaco's son and his grandmother, Hollywood star Grace Kelly.
Prince Albert II of Monaco and his son Jacques visited the Museum of Stamps and Coins and posed in front of a portrait of his mother, Grace Kelly. Now, the internet is buzzing about the physical resemblance between 11-year-old Jacques, the heir to the Monegasque throne, and his grandmother.
The ruling prince of the microstate and his son toured an exhibition celebrating the museum's 30th anniversary, which included a commemorative stamp featuring Grace Kelly. They both posed for photographs next to her.
"Jacques looks so much like his grandmother," one of the followers of the princely palace account wrote after this. Fans note the "Hollywood" oval of the prince's face, the shape of his nose, and the same blonde hair as the actress.
Meanwhile, media outlets note that Albert II deliberately brings Jacques to such events to emphasize the connection between generations. Grace Kelly once actively promoted Monaco's image through art and collecting, and Jacques now serves as the "face" of this continuity. Some publications also emphasize that Albert II has begun a "crash course" in introducing his son to state affairs, and attending events like these is not just a stroll, but an education.
Experts, meanwhile, note that Jacques appears more serious and focused on official events than before. He is being called the dynasty's "hope for stability." They write that he will be the first Monegasque monarch to grow up under the radar of digital media from an early age, while maintaining the classic "Kelly aristocracy."
As previously reported, the throne of Monaco will ultimately pass to Prince Albert II's son, Jacques Honoré Rainier, as succession is through the male line. Albert II's daughter, Jacques's twin sister Gabriella, received the titles Princess of Monaco and Countess of Carladès. Albert II also has two officially recognized illegitimate children (from different mothers), but they are not eligible to inherit the throne.
Meanwhile, the internet regularly discusses the dark side of the relationship between Albert II and his wife, Charlene. Previously, for example, it was revealed that he may have spent millions from the treasury on his mistresses.
