Princess Beatrice's husband is living separately from her due to the scandal surrounding her father.
Princess Beatrice, 37, and her husband, businessman Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, have become estranged amid the scandal surrounding her father, Prince Andrew, over his ties to billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. This month, the disgraced former prince, stripped of his title and all privileges by his brother, King Charles III, was arrested in connection with the case and interrogated for over 12 hours. The entire situation, according to insiders to The Daily Mail, has also affected the former prince's daughter: her husband is concerned that his father-in-law's reputation could damage his business, and as a result, he has allegedly distanced himself from his wife and spends more time on business trips abroad than at home.
So, he flew to Palm Beach to promote his business, Banda Property, which specializes in luxury real estate, and is allegedly in no hurry to return home. He's trying to shield his company from the scandal surrounding Beatrice's father, while she herself is unwilling to turn her back on her father.
"She [Beatrice] wants to stay with him [Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi], but he seems to be increasingly distracted by work and travel. Just when she needs him most, he withdraws," insiders report.
As one of The Daily Mail's sources reports, there was indeed a period of unhappiness between Beatrice and Edoardo for some time, but the princess was "determined to fight" for her family.
Another source reported that Edoardo Mapelli-Mozzi is genuinely concerned that his father-in-law's bad reputation will harm his business. According to the insider, work takes up a lot of Edoardo's time and energy, and "at the moment he's only preoccupied with himself." It's also telling that Mapelli-Mozzi's social media posts from work trips have suddenly increased sharply, something previously unseen.
As a reminder, Princess Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, married Italian aristocrat Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020. The couple wed in a private ceremony at Windsor Castle. The former Duke of York walked his daughter down the aisle, but it was decided not to include him in the published photos due to his involvement in the sex scandal surrounding billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Beatrice and her husband are currently raising two daughters, Sienna and Athena. Edoardo also has an older son, Christopher, from a previous relationship with Dara Juan.
On February 19, the former Duke of York was arrested at Sandringham on suspicion of improper conduct in public office. He was released a few hours later, but the investigation remains open. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor gained notoriety for his friendship with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sex trafficking and child molestation. Virginia Giuffre, one of the victims, was the first to accuse the former prince of sexual assault, which occurred when she was 17 years old. She claimed she and Andrew had sex three times between 1999 and 2002, for which she was paid $15,000. In 2021, Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Andrew, but he avoided trial: the parties reached a settlement of approximately £12 million, which was paid by Queen Elizabeth II. However, following a major public outcry, the former prince was excommunicated from the royal court. He lost his birthright title last year, following the release of new materials in the Epstein case, and shortly before that, he himself renounced all his honorary regalia. It's worth noting, however, that the former prince still categorically denies any involvement in the billionaire's case.
