Prince William shared a previously unpublished photo of Princess Diana amid her "war" with her brother Harry.
In honor of Mother's Day, Prince William posted a photo of his late mother on Instagram*, amid a escalating conflict with his brother, Prince Harry. The photo was taken in a flower field at Charles and Diana's main family estate, Highgrove. It shows a two-year-old William picking a bouquet with Princess Diana.
In the caption to the photo, the future king addressed his followers: "Remembering my mother today and every day. Thinking of everyone who is also remembering their favorite person today. Happy Mother's Day! William."
Photos from this series were published during Diana's lifetime, except for this photo, which, judging by the date (summer 1984), shows the Princess of Wales already pregnant with Prince Harry. Apparently, William and Kate decided to post a photo of Princess Diana, rather than the usual one with her children, because she would have turned 65 this year. Interestingly, Harry and Meghan decided to remain silent on this day. In the United States, Mother's Day, which William's address coincides with, is celebrated on a different date.
As a reminder, a conflict arose between Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, after their decision in 2020 to step back from their royal duties and move to the United States. The standoff escalated after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey and a Netflix documentary, described their miserable life at the Windsor court and accused the royal family of racism. The brothers are now estranged, and according to insiders, Prince William plans to strip Harry and Meghan of their titles after becoming king.
Meghan and Harry currently live in Montecito, California. In the US, Duchess Meghan launched her own brand of jams and home goods and launched a cooking show, "Love, Meghan," which was such a failure that it was canceled. Perhaps because of this, the Duchess, as a public figure, now participates in expensive retreats.
