A game of curling and an evening at the pub: Kate Middleton and Prince William shared new photos from their trip to Scotland.
Kate Middleton and Prince William have released a series of new photos from their trip to Scotland. Yesterday, the couple arrived in the country where they hold the titles of Duke and Duchess of Rothesay for an official visit.
The first stop for 44-year-old Kate and 43-year-old William was the National Curling Academy in Stirling. Here, ahead of the Milan Winter Olympics, the couple met and chatted with the Paralympic curling team and also tried their hand at the unusual sport.
The Prince and Princess of Wales then visited the hand-weaving workshop and independent charity Radical Weavers. The workshop, which was established in 2019, helps people who have experienced trauma or loneliness overcome social isolation through the traditional Scottish craft of tartan weaving. The couple met the organization's founder, Mairi Breslin, and took part in the creation of the world's longest tartan scarf.
The day ended at The Goth, a pub that operates under the Gothenburg system, which returns profits from establishments to the local community. Despite persistent entreaties from staff and guests, Kate abstained from drinks, while William enjoyed several glasses of cider. Before leaving, the couple received souvenirs: Kate received a bouquet, and William received a beer glass with the pub's logo and a certificate for ten drinks.
It's worth noting that Scotland plays a significant role in the couple's lives: it was here, at the University of St. Andrews, that they met and fell in love over twenty years ago. Last year, they returned here to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary.
As a reminder, Kate Middleton and Prince William have been married since 2011 and are raising three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. In early 2024, Kate underwent elective surgery and later announced she had been diagnosed with cancer. In the fall of that year, the princess completed treatment and soon afterward returned to royal duties. Rumors of a relapse of the disease have circulated recently, but these have not been confirmed.
