Will Smith accused of sexual harassment
Will Smith, 57, has been accused of sexual harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. The actor and singer was sued by one of his touring band members, violinist Brian King Joseph*.
According to the lawsuit, Will Smith hired a young man in 2024 to work a concert in San Diego, and then he was hired for further tour work. Joseph said that at first his relationship with Smith was strictly professional, but soon began to escalate. The actor allegedly used language toward his subordinate that violated his boundaries. In the lawsuit, the violinist noted that Will Smith told him, "I have a special connection with you that I don't have with others." Then he began to use pressure and manipulation.
A critical moment for Joseph occurred during a tour in Las Vegas in the spring of 2025. Smith's team lost the bag containing Joseph's hotel room keys for several hours. When the violinist returned, he discovered the room had been occupied. He found wet wipes, HIV medications prescribed in someone else's name, and a note with a drawing of a heart and the words, "Brian, I'll be back no later than 5:30, just the two of us..." The musician suspected Smith of breaking into his room.
Joseph contacted the police and told the actor's team about the incident, but, according to him, the case was not pursued. He was soon accused of fabricating the charges and fired. Joseph faced psychological and financial problems as a result, and is now ready to defend his case in court, seeking compensation.
