Elon Musk met with the Crown Prince of Dubai

Elon Musk, 54, met with Sheikh Hamdan in Dubai. The Emirati crown prince shared photos with the billionaire on social media.

Sheikh Hamdan and Elon Musk spent the day together discussing space and technology. "I thoroughly enjoyed my rich conversation with Elon Musk about space, technology, and humanity. I look forward to what the future brings," the sheikh captioned a photo of Musk with one of his thirteen children.

Earlier, the Prince of Dubai paid restaurant patrons a check for $8,000.

42-year-old Sheikh Hamdan is the second son of Dubai's ruler and UAE Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, by his first wife (and cousin). They have 12 children, and Rashid Al Maktoum has several wives. In 2019, one of them, Haya, fled the ruler for London with her children.

Sheikh Hamdan studied in the UK at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where Princes Harry and William also studied. In 2008, he was sworn in as Crown Prince following the abdication of his elder brother, Rashid (who died in 2015). In 2019, at the age of 36, Hamdan married his cousin, Sheikha bint Saeed bin Thani Al Maktoum, and they have four children.
