"Unfair laws are infringing on mothers' rights." Grimes says she hasn't seen her children with Elon Musk for five months
Singer Grimes, 36 (real name Claire Boucher), said she had not seen her three children with Elon Musk for more than five months amid a custody battle with the billionaire. She reported this in a post on the social network X. The conflict between Grimes and the founder of SpaceX began in 2023.
"I've been in court for a year in a state with unfair laws that infringe on mothers' rights. And I haven't seen my children for five months. That's all I can say right now," the singer wrote.
In response to a question in the comments about why the singer hasn't released new music in a long time, Grimes admitted that the custody battle is taking up all of her energy: she's so afraid of losing her children and going broke that she doesn't have the resources to be creative. She added: "I've been sleeping for the last year, and I've been crying every minute I'm not in court."
Elon Musk and Grimes began dating in 2018. They have three children: a son, X Æ A-Xii, whom Grimes gave birth to herself, a daughter, Exa Dark Siderel, who was born via a surrogate mother, and a son, Techno Mechanicus, whose birth they kept a secret for a long time. Their relationship ended in 2023. The singer later stated that they were friends: "I could even call him my boyfriend, but we are very fluid. We are best friends. We see each other a lot, but we have our own things. I don’t think people can understand us, but we need to be free."
In September 2023, Grimes wrote a post on social media site X about Musk preventing her from seeing her children, but the post was soon deleted. In the summer, Grimes' mother also shared that Elon Musk was preventing her children from seeing their dying great-grandmother.
Musk had previously decided to sue in Texas to reduce the amount of child support. In this state, the maximum amount of child support is $2,760, unlike in California, where Grimes filed suits.
Not long ago it became known that Elon Musk became a father for the twelfth time. Six of his children were born in marriage with his first wife, writer Justine Wilson, three - from singer Grimes, and three more - from Zilis. At the same time, the Internet believes that the founder of Tesla and SpaceX may have other children that no one knows about yet.
