"I'm Just Human." Selena Gomez Responds to Body Criticism, Opens Up About New Health Issues
Selena Gomez, 32, responded to more criticism of her figure by admitting that she has a bowel disease. She shared this in a video on TikTok, which was later deleted.
"I don't care that I don't look skinny. My body is not like that. End of story. No, I'm not a victim. I'm just a human being," she wrote in the caption of the video.
In the comments, she wrote: "This makes me sick. I have SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth syndrome - Ed.) and it's getting worse." She noted that symptoms of the disease include "bloating, stomach pain and digestive problems."
The reason for the new portion of criticism was the actress's appearance at the premiere of the film Emilia Perez in Los Angeles. Selena appeared in a black dress, with which, as haters believed, Gomez was trying to "hide her figure." The network also noted that the actress covered her stomach with her hand.
At the same time, Selena recently appeared in public at the premiere of a film in New York, and then netizens said that the actress looked noticeably thinner. Selena herself has repeatedly admitted that she suffers from weight fluctuations due to taking drugs for lupus and has a hard time with negative comments about her figure and appearance.
