Footballer Kylian Mbappe accused of rape in Stockholm
France captain Kylian Mbappe has been accused of rape. The investigation into the 25-year-old footballer, who recently joined Spanish club Real Madrid, was launched after his two-day visit to Stockholm, Swedish outlet Expressen reports.
According to the source, Kilian arrived in the Swedish capital last week with friends. On Thursday, he visited a restaurant and a nightclub, and left the city the following day. The footballer stayed at the Bank Hotel, where the alleged crime took place.
On October 12, a woman came to a hospital specializing in helping victims of sexual violence, claiming that Mbappe had raped her. She also filed a police report. On Monday, October 14, law enforcement arrived at the hotel where the footballer was staying to investigate.
Kylian Mbappe has denied the accusations against him. In his opinion, the news, which is being actively spread by media outlets around the world, is connected with the start of court hearings against the Parisian club Paris Saint-Germain, which owes the footballer more than $55 million.
