Kate Middleton hosts her first event since completing chemotherapy
Kate Middleton has resumed her royal duties for the first time since announcing she had completed chemotherapy, the royal circular announced.
The Princess of Wales, 42, held her first business meeting in nine months, hosting charity leaders at the royal family's country retreat.
"The Princess of Wales, joint patron of The Royal Trust of The Prince and Princess of Wales, hosted a reunion of alumni at Windsor Castle this afternoon," the palace said. There was no photographer at the reunion, but Ms Middleton was reportedly joined by members of her family and representatives from the Royal Trust's Early Childhood Centre. Ms Middleton opened the centre in the summer of 2021 to raise awareness of the importance of children's early years and the need to transform society. The Princess of Wales was kept informed of developments at the centre while undergoing treatment for cancer, and in May she was given a report on the task force's findings, which included a 60-page report on the project.
Kate is expected to work a reduced schedule and make a few appearances before the end of the year, including joining Queen Camila on the Foreign Office balcony on Armistice Day in November, when King Charles III and Prince William lay wreaths in the square. She is also expected to attend the annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December.
Let us recall that on September 9, Kate Middleton announced that she had completed chemotherapy. To do this, she released a video, which, however, was criticized online for being too staged: many perceived it as insincere. Kate Middleton's illness became known in March of this year. However, she disappeared from the public eye in the winter, after the palace announced that she had undergone abdominal surgery.
The sudden disappearance of Kate Middleton has sparked a variety of conspiracy theories online: some have suggested that the princess fled the palace because Prince William cheated on her, others have suggested that she had plastic surgery gone wrong, and some have even claimed that she is no longer alive.
Later, she got in touch and announced her illness by releasing a video. Many then believed that the video was generated by a neural network. However, in mid-June, Kate appeared at the Trooping the Colour parade and dispelled some of the rumors.
