The MTV Video Music Awards ceremony took place in New York. Katy Perry, accompanied by Orlando Bloom, Taylor Swift, Suki Waterhouse, who recently became a mother for the first time, Lenny Kravitz, Blackpink soloist Lisa, Sabrina Carpenter and others took to the red carpet. 
Katy Perry's look was criticized online: users called it a "torn curtain." According to fans, the singer herself looked sloppy because of it. She was accompanied on the red carpet by her lover Orlando Bloom, who recently found himself in the center of media attention after he looked at Kim Kardashian's buttocks behind Katy's back at an event. Katy Perry later commented on the incident and noted that she herself would not have been able to resist.
Some of the awards guests turned to the classics: for example, Barry Keoghan's lover Sabrina Carpenter copied the look of Madonna, in which she debuted in 1991.
The winner of the award was Taylor Swift, who took home her 30th VMA award and became the most decorated solo artist in the history of the award.
