Kate Winslet posed for a glossy magazine and told how she got rid of the feeling of guilt towards her children
Actress Kate Winslet has appeared in a photo shoot for Harper's Bazaar UK and told how she dealt with the guilt she felt towards her children due to working so much.
The 48-year-old actress explained that self-care is important to her: "It takes time to just be yourself and time to be kind to yourself. As women, we try to keep up with the pace of life and we get frustrated if we don't have time to exercise, or walk the dog properly, or be at every sporting event for the kids, or get them to and from school. I'm okay with that because I know I just can't do it all."
The mother of three (Mia Threapleton, 23, Joe Mendez, 20, and Bear, 10) said she feels her most beautiful and happiest when she's relaxing. She was once supported in this by her colleague and friend, actress Emma Thompson, who gave her advice: "Look, baby, just remember: it's important to do your job well, but it's even more important to relax. I've never forgotten that."
Kate also noted that women become more beautiful with age: "Our faces are more of a reflection of our essence, they sit better on our bone structure, they have more life, more history. I find the wrinkles around the eyes, the backs of the hands incredibly beautiful!"
The actress is known for her views on cosmetology and plastic surgery: she once jokingly founded the "British League Against Plastic Surgery" with fellow Oscar winners Emma Thompson and Rachel Weisz, and now Kate finds beauty in what used to be hidden. For example, she recently revealed that she was reprimanded on set because of the folds on her stomach.
