Pavel Durov was detained at the Paris airport
Telegram founder Pavel Durov was detained at Paris Le Bourget Airport as he exited his private jet, which had arrived from Baku, the French channel LCI reports. He was detained by Parisian special services.
Durov was put on the federal wanted list immediately after his arrival from Azerbaijan, according to French media. The Telegram founder was allegedly the subject of a French search warrant, which was issued by OFMI (National Office of the Judicial Police) based on a preliminary investigation. Law enforcement agencies believe Durov is involved in "drug trafficking, crimes against children and fraud" due to Telegram's "lack of moderation and cooperation with law enforcement officials."
