Jessica Simpson has denied rumors that she is abusing alcohol again
Jessica Simpson has responded to a follower's comment on her Instagram* who urged her to "stop drinking", saying she was misunderstood.
Singer and fashion designer Jessica Simpson posted a photo of her 11-year-old son Ace on Instagram* and wrote that she has the kindest and most handsome son on the planet. One of the commenters (with the nickname nunyabusiness, meaning "none of your business") responded to this post: "Stop drinking."
Simpson, 44, did not ignore the message and responded: "I do not want and have not touched alcohol since October 2017 and it was the best decision I made for myself and my family." As a result, their conversation ended very peacefully: the subscriber asked for forgiveness, and Simpson thanked him for his concern and added that he "very much misunderstood her."
Recall that Jessica Simpson spoke openly about her alcohol addiction in her 2020 memoir, Open Book. She said that during her relationship with John Mayer in 2007, she became dependent on alcohol and pills because she felt insecure around him: "When I tried to jump in and say something to break up his monologue, he would challenge my words and I would shut up. I was so afraid of disappointing him that I couldn't even text him without him criticizing my grammar and spelling."
In 2014, Simpson married Eric Johnson and they had three children. After three pregnancies, she gained a lot of weight, reaching 230 pounds. Because of this, she faced bullying and decided to resort to plastic surgery. This eventually led to health problems. When she managed to lose weight, many began to accuse her of using Ozempic, a diabetes drug that many celebrities began to use for weight loss due to its side effects. Simpson herself denied these rumors and stated that she managed to lose weight through willpower.
