"I'm lucky to be alive." Singer Halsey spoke about her secret struggle with serious illnesses
Singer Halsey has revealed that she is secretly battling serious illnesses. She announced this on Instagram*, publishing videos: in them she lies under an IV and cries. She did not name her diagnoses in the videos, but in the post she tagged the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance.
"I feel like an old lady. I told myself I'm giving myself two more years to get sick. When I'm 30, I'll have to be reborn and I won't be sick, I'll look very sexy, I'll have a lot of energy, and I'll be able to repeat my 20 in my 30s,” she said in one video. In other videos, she showed how the treatment was being carried out.
“In general, I’m lucky to be alive,” she eventually said.
Recently, Halsey disappeared from the public eye for several years. The singer suffered several miscarriages, after which she became a mother: on July 14, 2021, Halsey gave birth to her son, Ender Ridley Aydin. The child's father is Turkish director and actor Alev Aydin.
Before the birth of her son, Halsey was forced to have an abortion because the pregnancy threatened her life. “After one of my miscarriages, I needed an abortion because my body could not completely terminate the pregnancy on its own, and without medical intervention I risked sepsis,” she said, admitting that she had a hard time with the medical intervention and cried a lot.
