Kate Beckinsale responded to criticism from her followers after they said the actress looked too thin. She posted a video on Instagram*, which received many comments.

The actress commented on the criticism and said that she had recently faced numerous losses and stress, and this is what led to her losing a lot of weight. 
Kate recently lost her stepfather, which reminded her of the death of her own father in childhood, and also faced a serious illness. In addition, she lost her beloved pet - a cat who lived with her for 19 years. “I spent six weeks in the hospital due to profuse vomiting of blood caused by the stress that had been tearing a hole between my esophagus and stomach for a year,” the actress said.
"All of this has contributed to some weight loss. And what you think about my appearance and what I should look like, regardless of any circumstances in my life and the life of my family, is not important. I am trying to cope with the losses that seem unbearable, and triggering PTSD again due to finding my very young father dying when I was a very young child, at night and alone,” Kate said.
