On April 29, the premiere of the film “A Thought of You,” starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Golitsyn, took place in New York. Anne came to the event in a bright look: she wore a tight red dress with a long slit in the front and matching pointed shoes.
Speaking to reporters, Hathaway touched on the topic of her refusal to drink alcohol. She recently spoke about keeping her promise to the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019 to stop drinking before her son turned 18 so she could spend enough time with him without having to send him off to school with a hangover. At that time, Anne and her husband, producer Adam Shulman, had only one son, Jonathan, but the actress soon gave birth to another boy, Jack.
In a new interview with The New York Times, Anne admitted that she has not drunk for five years. After being asked what it was like to celebrate her 40th birthday and be considered a “middle-aged woman,” Hathaway said there were more important dates in her life. “I don't usually talk about this, but I haven't drunk for five years. This is a really important date. 40 years is just a gift,” she said.
At the premiere of the film “A Thought of You,” the actress spoke in the same vein. She thanked herself for taking the step toward sobriety “that she needed,” and admitted to ET that she feels much more comfortable at 40 than she did at 20: “I used to constantly feel pressured like I had to do everything. figure it out, and I thought that since I don’t know myself so well, I’m always doing something wrong.”
Anne's priority right now is her family. “When I first became a mom, people were like, 'Oh, how are you going to balance your career and family?', and I was like, 'Balance? What are you talking about?". As much as I love my career, as much as I love what I do, and you know I’m a beast at it, there can be no competition,” the actress shared.
The film “A Thought of You” tells the story of a 40-year-old woman named Solen, who goes to Coachella with her daughter and falls in love with a 24-year-old member of the popular band August Moon.
