Twilight star Elizabeth Reaser secretly married

Elizabeth Reaser, best known for her role as Esme Cullen in the Twilight film saga, secretly married composer Bruce Gilbert. This happened back in August 2023, but the actress spoke about the joyful event in her life only now.

She published several photos from the celebration on her Instagram*. Vogue magazine also released detailed material about her wedding.

The wedding ceremony took place in Italy, in a narrow circle. According to Elizabeth, she and Bruce initially planned to invite many guests, but then realized that it did not suit them. However, Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor still received the offer. The bride walked down the aisle in a delicate translucent dress designed by Danielle Frankel to the sounds of mandolin and guitar, and the couple performed their first dance to Cucurrucucu Paloma by Brazilian musician Caetano Veloso.

It was the most fulfilling experience. Something happened to us when we said our vows. This changed everything. I kept trying not to cry, and then I started laughing,” said Elizabeth.

The couple's dating story is quite romantic. It is interesting that for a long time they lived very close to each other in the Silver Lake area in Los Angeles, but did not communicate. In 2017, Elizabeth invited friends over so they could all play with the dogs in her backyard. Bruce passed by, who also decided to walk his dog, and one of the actress’s friends decided to call him over. As a result, the communication was delayed. Reaser jokes that she and her husband “owe everything to their dogs.” The marriage proposal took place five years later during a trip to Italy, at the Il San Pietro di Positano hotel, which Elizabeth considers “the best place on earth.”
