Brad Pitt stopped insisting on joint custody of children in court against Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt no longer insists on joint custody of the children, and the trial itself is nearing completion. DailyMail reports this with reference to its sources. The process has been dragging on since 2016, when the couple announced their separation, but now they have begun negotiations.
Although Pitt initially insisted on joint custody of six children, three of whom are adopted, his representative has now stopped disputing Jolie's claims. This means that Jolie will retain full custody of the children, while Pitt will still have visitation rights.
The publication notes that this may be due to the fact that three children are already over 18 years old: we are talking about 22-year-old Maddox, 20-year-old Pax and 19-year-old Zahara. Pitt has a strained relationship with them - a quarrel broke out on the plane over Maddox, Pax published a post in which he called his father a “world-class asshole,” and Zahara refused his last name.
But with biological children the situation is better. Earlier it became known that 17-year-old Shiloh decided to live with her father. According to insiders, although Jolie did not like this idea, Shiloh has always been a “daddy's girl.” It is not known for sure whether the twins Knox and Vivien communicate with their father.
A source close to Pitt commented that the estrangement between the actor and the children occurs “as if by a manual,” noting that Jolie is turning the children against their father. He added that the actress wanted to delay the divorce until the children came of age. Sources close to Jolie say: “Brad has no one to blame but himself. All Angelina wants is to heal her family and move on.”
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met in 2005, when they were filming the film “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” and began dating, although the actor at that time was married to Jennifer Aniston, whom he soon divorced (according to rumors, Jolie “facilitated” this ). Pitt and Jolie got married in 2014, but the actress filed for divorce in 2016 after a serious argument on board a private jet. After this, Jolie accused him of violence against her and the children. Brad himself denies everything. After the separation, they spent many years resolving issues related to custody of six children, three of whom are adopted, and the Chateau Miraval winery.
Brad Pitt now lives with his new lover, designer Ines de Ramon. Jolie is not dating anyone.
