Prince Harry gave a speech at the NFL awards ceremony, but did not mention his father with cancer
Just two days after his visit to the UK, Prince Harry appeared at the 2024 NFL Awards at the Resorts World Theater in Las Vegas. He presented the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award to Pittsburgh Steelers' Cameron Heyward, to his delight. “I can’t believe it, it’s Prince Harry himself,” said the athlete.
At the event, Prince Harry gave a speech in which he joked a lot, but did not mention his father, King Charles III, who had cancer, whom he went to visit after the news of his illness. He arrived in the UK without Meghan Markle and spent only 24 hours there, and only spent 45 minutes with the king. At the same time, he did not meet with his brother, Prince William, which destroyed hopes for the reconciliation of the brothers: royal experts had previously discussed this. Many of them also noted that Prince William is not ready to put up with Prince Harry, as his behavior in recent years has been “horrific.”
Prince Harry also did not visit his brother's wife Kate Middleton: she is recovering from major abdominal surgery.
Whether Harry managed to improve his relationship with his father is also not yet clear. Although many experts believe that the prince's visit to the UK is a good sign, others say that the king was not too happy: he wanted to rest after treatment, but was forced to tense up in anticipation of the visit of his youngest son.
Prince William, who was forced to take over his father's public responsibilities, earlier gave a speech in which he spoke about the illness of his father and wife and thanked him for his attention to them.
