“I ate very little and meditated all the time.” Maisie Williams posed for Harper's Bazaar magazine and spoke about preparing for the role of Catherine Dior
Actress Maisie Williams, best known for her role in the series Game of Thrones, posed for the cover of the new issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine. In an interview with the publication, she told how she prepared for the role in the new series “New Look,” where she played the sister of the legendary fashion designer Christian Dior Catherine during the Second World War.
According to Macy, preparing for the role was difficult, but it was worth it. "It was amazing, my whole life moved to Paris. It was hard work, but it was an honor to play this role, and it became all-consuming. It was a role that required extraordinary skill," Macy said.[img]7800[ /img]
To prepare, she limited herself in food in order to have the haggard look that Catherine had after returning to Paris. “I ate very little, meditated all the time, lit candles and incense in my apartment.” According to the actress, she lost most of the weight through sweat. "I had to get up at four in the morning to start sweating. The night before, around seven or eight in the evening, I was allowed to eat something salty and dehydrating - some smoked salmon and a tiny glass of wine. Then I took a hot bath with salt. Then I went to bed and slept for maybe three hours, and then woke up and ate a handful of nuts." /img]
The actress also admitted that during filming she had sleep paralysis and was also tormented by nightmares: she dreamed that she was caught in a trap.
